Cherie Ferro has been teaching Hatha Yoga in the Lansing area since 1996. She is certified by the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago and is registered with Yoga Alliance. In joy and gratitude, Cherie offers her exploration and love of yoga to her students at St. Katherine's Church in Williamston, Michigan.
Private Yoga Instruction
Cherie will be offering private yoga instruction through the summer. Whether you want to work on certain poses, create a personal home practice, address certain body issues or life stresses, sessions can be tailored to meet your needs. Focus can be on strength and bone building, flexibility, pain relief, stress relief, lifestyle changes, chakra balancing and any or all of the above. Discussion, asana, pranayama, relaxation, meditation and self-study to consider lifestyle changes may be used. Depending on what we're working on, more than one session may be recommended. A session can last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half at $60/hour. These sessions are safe, private and confidential. Call or email Cherie to schedule.
ROPES AND RESTORATIVE YOGA
For those who have never done yoga as well as for experienced students. You will use the yoga rope wall to hang in postures that help release stress from the mind and tension from the body. Then you will deeply relax, resting in soft supported poses, using bolsters and blankets to cradle your body while soothing music plays softly in the background. It's a great way to end the work week and begin the weekend.

GENTLE YOGA FOR EVERYONE
For those who have never practiced yoga as well as for experienced students looking for a less challenging class. Emphasis on taking care of low back problems as well as relieving shoulder and neck tension. We will bring awareness to proper alignment in our posture while standing and sitting and learn easy stretches and relaxation techniques to do at home or at the office. Great for those with limited flexibility and for those looking for stress relief. If you haven't done yoga for awhile, this class is a great way to EASE back into it. YOGA FOR BEGINNERS
For those with no yoga experience as well as for those who did yoga in the past and need a refresher. An introductory class including basic standing and seated poses as well as backbends and restorative yoga. A more challenging class than Gentle Yoga for Everyone, it may be repeated until the student feels prepared to enter a Continuing Yoga or Afternoon Yoga class.

CONTINUING YOGA
For students with introductory yoga experience as well as for those who have practiced yoga for some time. Deeper exploration of basic postures to develop strength, flexibility and well-being. Builds the foundation of yoga practice focusing on breath, body awareness and proper alignment. Pranayama, meditation, restorative yoga and use of the yoga rope wall will be included.

AFTERNOON YOGA
For Continuing Yoga and Intermediate Yoga students. Deeper exploration of postures at a slower pace. Yoga rope wall will be used. More pranayama, meditation and restorative yoga than Continuing or Intermediate classes.

SATURDAY MORNING YOGA
For Continuing Yoga, Afternoon Yoga and Intermediate Yoga students. A vigorous and energizing morning practice consisting of a warm-up, vinyasa (yoga flow), a cool-down and savasana. Weather permitting, class may be held outside.
SATURDAY July 12 and Aug 2 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. $11 each class or $20 for both
INTERMEDIATE YOGA
For the student who has an established home practice. Continues a deeper exploration of postures as well as a broader understanding of the practice of yoga. Pranayama, meditation, restorative yoga and use of the yoga rope wall will be included.

When the student feels ready to move out of the Yoga for Beginners and into a Continuing Yoga or Afternoon Yoga class and wants to establish a yoga practice, 2 classes per week are recommended.
